Project Info-Genomics
This project aims at developing new tools for genome analysis employing methodolgies based on information theory. Genomes contain information needed by every cell to survive and reproduce. The idea behind this investigation is that by analizing genome sequences from an informational point of view (e.g., discovering of repeated "words" and motifs, compression factors, base frequencies, etc.) we could characterize genomes and improve our understanding about their functionalities.
